Timor-Leste president to make official visit to Thailand

BANGKOK, Jan 7 (TNA) – Timor-Leste President Dr. Jose Ramos Horta will arrive Sunday for a three-day official visit to Thailand as a guest of the government to boost bilateral relations for the mutual benefit of both countries.

The January 11-13 visit is the first for Dr. Ramos Horta to visit Thailand as president of the Timor-Leste Republic.

The Timor-Leste leader will have an audience with His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej at Klai Kang Wol Palace in Prachuab Khiri Khan during his three-day visit.

The Thai government will host an official reception for Dr. Ramos Horta and hold formal discussions with him and his entourage.

Thailand's Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajva will host a luncheon in honour of the president and his delegation at the Foreign Ministry.

In addition, the Timor-Leste leader will be invited to deliver a keynote speech on "Is Long Lasting Peace an Attainable Dream?" and receive an honorary doctorate degree in political science from Ramkamhaeng University. (TNA)
